A beautiful Art Deco setting
La Coupole is certainly one of the most stunning Art Deco restaurants in Paris. The restaurant has two floors and counts 33 pillars that have been beautifully painted by several artists throughout the years. The lower ground floor offers a dancing area where Jean Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir used to come and dance, or listen to jazz and tango. In January 1988, la Coupole is officially listed as a historical monument, meaning that its Art deco decoration is recognised as being part of the French artistic heritage.
Traditional Brasserie cuisine
La Coupole's menu varies depending on the season but dishes offered on the menu reflect traditional Brasserie cooking. Choices include, amongst others, excellent fresh seafood platters, traditional choucroute from Alsace, sole meuniere and beef tartare. For dessert, you can enjoy a traditional tarte tatin, ile flottante (floating island) or Baba au rhum.
